Brain & Mind Hub was recently featured on WIN News and Noosa Today, showcasing our pioneering work in mental health treatment.
These features highlight our role in bringing one of Australia’s most advanced treatments for severe, treatment-resistant depression to the Sunshine Coast.
At Brain & Mind Hub, we are the first clinic in Queensland to offer an intensive, neuronavigated form of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy supported by international research and approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
““Brain & Mind Hub is leading the way with our use of MRI-guided neuronavigation combined with an intensive protocol that delivers treatment faster and with greater precision. Through our three-tiered treatment model – Standard, Accelerated and Intensive – we’re able to achieve results in just days to weeks, rather than months.” explains BaMH Director and CEO, Dr Jim Lagopoulos.
Watch the WIN News feature (aired 16 June 2025 at 5.30pm with Steve Hart):
While standard TMS protocols have existed for some time, they often produce only moderate improvements. BaMH is setting a new standard, delivering results of up to 90% remission in some cases by applying advanced neuroimaging and precision-guided stimulation, without the need for anaesthetic or invasive procedures.
This modern treatment stands in stark contrast to outdated portrayals of "shock therapy." Instead, TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate targeted brain regions involved in mood regulation, offering a safe and well-tolerated alternative for those struggling with persistent depression. In a time where one in seven Australian adults is prescribed antidepressants and many find limited relief, this innovative approach offers new hope for recovery.
We are proud to be leading the way in neuroscience-informed mental health care here on the Sunshine Coast. To learn more about our TMS services and how to access treatment, read more here.
