TBMH Public Commitment to Child Safety

Thompson Brain and Mind Healthcare is unwavering in its commitment to creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for all children and young people. We recognise our responsibilities under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Queensland) and are dedicated to embedding child safety at every level of our work.

We place the wellbeing of children at the centre of our decisions, services, and organisational culture. Every child has the right to feel safe, be heard, and access our services free from harm, discrimination, or exploitation. We actively promote the participation and voice of children and young people, ensuring they are respected, included, and able to contribute to decisions that affect them.

We are committed to cultural safety for all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with diverse identities. We acknowledge the importance of connection to culture, community, and Country, and we work in partnership with families and cultural leaders to ensure our services are respectful, inclusive, and responsive to each child’s cultural needs.

Our staff are carefully selected, trained, and supported to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct. We maintain robust policies, clear reporting pathways, and strong governance practices to prevent, identify, and respond to any concerns about child safety.

We continuously review and strengthen our child‑safe practices to ensure they remain effective, evidence‑informed, and aligned with community expectations. Through ongoing education, accountability, and collaboration, we strive to foster a culture where child safety is everyone’s responsibility and where children and young people can thrive.
