Michelle’s professional interests span a wide range of areas including relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma/acute stress, grief/loss, assertiveness and adjustment challenges.
Areas of interest:
As a registered psychologist Michelle employs a diverse array of frameworks in her practice, integrating cognitive-behavioural, attachment, and acceptance-based principles.
She utilities trauma-informed principles, trans-diagnostic and emotion-focused modalities in her approach.
Michelle emphasises the importance of a warm, friendly, and non-judgmental approach as foundational to building a therapeutic relationship. She believes this relationship is crucial for effective, evidence-based interventions and considers herself an ‘all-rounder’ in her therapeutic approach.
Addressing psychological distress can be daunting, and Michelle values creating a safe space where clients feel comfortable exploring their difficulties ethically and in a constructive manner.
In her therapeutic space, Michelle collaborates closely with clients to access the underlying deeper core issues utilising client-centred methods to gently challenge thoughts, beliefs, and internal barriers that hinder emotional regulation and personal growth.
Her goal is to facilitate meaningful and sustainable change through respectful engagement for individuals to achieve positive mental well-being.
